Nor-Cal Women in Cannabis

We are, first and foremost, a community that uplifts and celebrates one another. We are stronger together, we want all of us to win.

We are:

Collaborative

In a highly competitive and male-dominated field, it can be tempting to view other women as competition. We reject this scarcity mindset that pits us against each other. We are stronger together and believe in lifting each other up.

Supportive

When one of us has a win, we all win. We celebrate one another’s successes and support one another when we fail.

What Women are Saying…

"The sisterhood I’ve found has been a source of deep nourishment. It is a community where wisdom is shared freely, and we lift one another through challenges and triumphs. Being surrounded by women who lead with compassion, strength, and vision has been transformative.”

Monique

" I look forward to gathering.. We aim to help lift each other up and not drag each other down. We hold up half the sky and together we can make it beautiful and fulfilling work!"

FAQ

  • The intention for these events is for women to have safe space to build community and feel supported, this is important in an industry that often doesn’t feel safe or supportive. There are very few women-run businesses in cannabis, and every year there are fewer women in leadership positions, fewer women-owned brands, retailers and farms. Women-run businesses get funded at a much lower rate.

There are other networking events for women, but many are exclusive and there is a cost barrier to attend that often isn’t equitable, especially with the current state of the industry. There are also lots of events for anyone involved in cannabis, but again those cost money to attend and many women have encountered sexism and worse at these larger events.

We believe stronger communities foster greater resilience for both positive individual change and collective power.

  • This event series is an effort to build community authentically outside of the typical monetized event structure and industry. We are about building genuine community through connection, joy, shared experience and dialogue.

  • The events are currently open to all women in the community or working in the industry. To get invited to the next event, sign up for our newsletter!
