What do you do in the space?
Firstly, I am currently the Retail Director for Redwood Roots Distribution, representing our house brand and our family of farm brands throughout the California market. In this role I have helped usher in the legacy movement by carving out dispensary shelf space and spreading awareness about the benefits of, not only regenerative farming, but the rich history of the current day cannabis industry that was pioneered and developed through the oppressive years of prohibition in Humboldt County and the broader Emerald Triangle. Secondly, I co-founded Big Slang, a plant-based business consulting firm with a mission to shape how cannabis and psychedelics are marketed to consumers. We believe that how these sacred medicines are introduced to the masses is critical and we are committed to ensuring they are presented with the respect they deserve while maximizing influence for our clients. Lastly, I own and operate a nutrition company that focuses on incorporating cannabis and many other plant allies into one's health regimen. Moore Vitality was created to guide clients on a transformative journey towards a healthier and more vibrant lifestyle by inspiring positive shifts in behavior and mindset towards health and wellness and to nurture a deeper connection with life itself.
What has been the best part about being in the industry/community?
The cannabis plant has profoundly enriched my life! Bringing with it not only professional success but also deep, meaningful connections. It has been a source of abundance, both in terms of personal growth and the opportunities it has provided me.
For me, the plant is more than just a career focus; it’s a guiding force that has shaped my values, my relationships, and my purpose. I cannot envision a world where cannabis does not hold a central place in my life, as it opens doors to so much fulfillment, joy and healing.
How has developing a community of other women in cannabis impacted you?
Growing up in Humboldt during the 90s and 2000s, it often felt like a boys' club, but I was fortunate to learn from and work alongside many remarkable women over the years. As my network in the space grows, I’m continuously inspired by the strength, wisdom, and beauty that women bring to the cannabis space and beyond. I’m excited to connect with more like-minded women who are shaping this industry with purpose and passion!
