What has been the best part of being in this industry ?

I would definitely say the beautiful community I have built amongst my favorite stoners. We are always learning more about this amazing plant.

What has been the most challenging?

As a non-profit we struggle to find funding for our program. The toxic male chauvinist culture. Also just being taken seriously in our industry as a Latina who has been touching this miraculous plant since I was 11 years old. We have for the longest been used as a token “face of equity” but no real equity shares allotted to us so we can build real generational wealth. Also keeping up with all the different laws, information for permits and operating codes.

How has developing a community of other women in cannabis impacted you?

Wonderfully! I love building community with women of all different backgrounds. I have worked extensively with women chefs and continue to make it a point to empower and support other women in our spaces. I believe this industry is run by women but unfortunately disproportionately owned by white men.
